  • Recognize environmental leadership in the building industry
  • Stimulate green competition
  • Raise consumer awareness of green building benefits
  • Transform the building market

Sustainability

Sustainable development is a pattern of resource use that aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met, not only in the present, but also for future generations.

To meet their needs, design and operation of e.g. food processing facitilies should offer facilities such as:

  • Production of safe, healthy products to response to market demands
  • Ensurance for consumers access to nutritious food with accurate information about food products
  • Achievement consistently of high standards of environmental performance by: reducing energy consumption,
minimizing resource inputs and using renewable energy when possible
  • Ensurance for staff of a safe and hygienic working environment and high social wellfare
  • Ensurance of know how and continous training for all employees involved in the operations
